Now more and more people like using UV RESIN to make small crafts.

Today we will focus on some issues and give you 5 tips to make great UV resin artwork. So, hopefully, this will get you off to a smooth start.

2. AVOID STICKINESS
3. PREVENT YELLOWING
4. CLEANING OF MOLD
5. ABOUT ODOR

1. Remove bubbles

Once you stir the UV resin, you’re going to get some bubbles. Here’s an easy tip: Let it sit for about 10 minutes and watch the bubbles magically disappear.

Once you pour your resin into your mold and you still have bubbles, here’s how to get rid of them?

The first method is by using heat to get rid of the bubbles. Be careful not to stay in one spot for more than 1 to 2 seconds at the most; otherwise, you’ll create a kind of crust. So, you will have to pop the bubbles very quickly.

If you don’t have a barbecue lighter or a hot air dryer, here’s the second method: Blow gently on the bubbles with a straw.

With the embedding of different elements in the resin, the risk of blistering also increases. To keep this as low as possible, you should make sure that the elements to be embedded are placed flat on the resin layer and pressed well into the uncured resin.

2. Avoid stickiness

First : During the process of using UV resin, avoid exposing the mixed UV resin to the air for a long time.

Second : Your mold should be clear. An opaque-colored mold can further inhibit curing. A clear resin piece should be okay for curing in a non-clear mold, but clear molds help a great deal for better curing.

Third : Too much pigment. Putting too much powder or ink or darker-colored inks can prevent resin from curing all the way through. Make sure your colors are translucent or do curing in sections for more opaque colors.

Finally : If you use a deep mold, please cure it in layers. If you want the curing to be successful at one time, please make sure not to add too many accessories.

3. Prevent yellowing

To prevent yellowing of the UV resin when in storage, you should avoid light, air, and a humid environment.

After opening a new bottle of UV resin for use, it is best to use it within 6-10 months. As air enters the bottle every time it is used, it is an important factor in the cause of yellowing the UV resin.

Secondly, UV resin is not suitable for large DIY projects. Thick and large projects are also a cause of UV resin yellowing

4. Cleaning of Mold

After rinsing your mold with water, make sure that the mold is free of water, oil, or other stains before use.

If there are water stains in the UV resin, it may be difficult to cure.

You can use a dry paper towel dipped in alcohol to wipe.

Or use tape to remove any UV resin residue on the surface of the silicone mold.

If you want to reuse your containers, just leave your popsicle stick inside and let it fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, you’ll be able to peel it off like magic.

5. About odor

UV resin will have some smell, which is determined by the characteristics of the product.

Generally, it will release more odor when it is cured under a UV lamp.

Secondly, if you use a barbecue lighter or a hot air dryer to remove bubbles, it will have a little odor.

This is because UV resin will react when heated, but the smell will disappear once it is cured.

For people who are sensitive to odor, it is recommended not to use in a confined space, and you can wear a mask.
